How to add Whatsapp Share Button in Blogger?
Adding the Whatsapp share button to your blog is quite easy. All you have to do is to follow the below steps & replicate the process.
To use the Whatsapp share button on Blogger, I am using Addthis. It is a completely free service that you can use to add social media sharing buttons to your blog.
If you don't want to use it, then head over to this list of best social media sharing buttons for Blogger.
Here we go:
Step 1: Creating an AddThis Account
The first step in the process is to create your AddThis account. For this, you have to visit their official website.
Click this link: https://www.addthis.com
On the homepage, you have to click on "Get Started, It's Free" & you are good to go. Then, AddThis will ask you to enter your details to create your account.
You can either put your information or just scroll a bit & Sign Up with Google, Facebook, or Twitter.
Signing up with social media is an easy way as you don't have to waste your time filling the information & then verifying your account.
Step 2: Add Code to your Website/Blog
After creating your account with AddThis, you have to add the Javascript code provided by them to your blog. Here's how you can do it.
First, click on the "Get the Code" item from the right menu of your dashboard. Just after clicking on it, a code will appear in front of you.
Next, you have to click on the + icon & the code will be copied to the clipboard. Now we have to add this code in the HTML of our theme.
To do so, you have to visit the Theme section of your Blogger dashboard. Here you will find a CUSTOMIZE button along with a drop-down menu.
Select Edit HTML from the drop-down.
Just after clicking it, you will be redirected to a completely new page where the HTML code of your Blogger theme will be present.
Scroll down at the last & just before </body> tag , paste the code you have copied from AddThis.
Make sure to Save Changes before leaving.
That's it. You have integrated Blogger with AddThis & now you are eligible to display various types of social share buttons on your blog.
Step 3: Adding Whatsapp Share Button to your Blog
In this step, we will learn how you can add 5 different types of share buttons to your Blogspot blog. I have discussed further steps for each of them below.
#1: Floating Whatsapp Share Button
A floating share button sticks or floats on your web page as you scroll down. Here's how you can add a floating Whatsapp share button on your Blogspot blog.
Head over back to your AddThis dashboard & click on the Tools link in the left menu. Here's how it look.
At the start, no tools will be present there. You have to click on Add New Tool to add a new type of social sharing button. Let's see what happens next!
Just after clicking on Add New Tools, a pop-up will appear in front of you. Here you have select what types of Tool, you want to use.
In my case, I am adding the WhatsApp share button, so I have to select Share Buttons.
In the next step, we have to select the type of share button, that we want to use. As I have already discussed, we will be going to add 5 different types of share buttons, Floating is one of them.
Follow the below settings:
- Tool Type >> Floating >> Continue
Just after clicking the Continue button, a similar pop-up will open in front of you. Here you have to select Sharing Services, Size, Color & other properties of your selected buttons.
Next, you have to select the following settings:
- Sharing Services >> Selected by You
- Remove all existing services.
- Add More Services >> Add Whatsapp Share button.
- Finally hit the Activate button.
Congrats, finally we have added a floating Whatsapp share button to our blog. In the below image, you can see how it looks on a live blog.
Note: I am adding Telegram along with the Whatsapp share button just for my convenience. You are free to remove it or add any other social share buttons.
#2: Inline WhatsApp Share Button
Till now, you have seen how we can add a sticky or floating WA share button on our blog. Let us also learn how to add inline share buttons.
Similar to the Floating share buttons, here you have to select Inline instead of floating & click the Continue button.
After you hit the continue button, it will take you to the next step, where you will be asked to select services, size, color & other similar properties.
Next, hit the Activate Tool button.
The inline share buttons will not be activated just by doing so.
Activating the tool, a new pop-up window will appear where you will find a code that you have to place where you want to show these inline share buttons.
Let's say I want to show these buttons at the end of the post. So, I have to add this code at the end of my blog post.
Here's how you can do it!
1. Open any blog post in Blogger post editor & then click on the pencil icon at the top-left corner. Here you will find an option to convert your post into HTML code.
2. Scroll down & add your AddThis code at the end of the blog post (in HTML format).
3. Finally click Update & you are all set.

#3: Expanding & Image Sharing Whatsapp Button
Similarly, as we have added the Floating & Inline Whatsapp share button, you can also add expanding & image sharing buttons.
Here's what you have to do?
Similar to the above steps, here you have to select Expanding or Image Sharing instead of Floating or Inline. You can get the help of the below snapshot for better understandings.
Hit continue & in the next step, you have to customize your button & then activate them.
#4: Custom Whatsapp Share Button
If you are looking for a way to share only the content that you want to share, then this method might be of great use.

Here's what exactly you have to do:
Open the above link & you will be redirected to a page. Just after scrolling a bit, you will find the fields where you have to enter your data.
The following information is required:
- Button Text, e.g. "Share on WhatsApp"
- Sharing Text, e.g. "Beginners Guide to Keyword Research"
- URL, e.g. "https://fulltechhelp.com/keyword-research"
Here's the live example!
After entering all the required information, a code will be generated as shown in the above image. All you have to do is to copy this code & paste wherever you want to show the Whatsapp sharing button.
In this way, you can add a custom WhatsApp share button in Blogger.
